To create a blended design with Asian and contemporary influences, that works harmoniously with the renovation of this outstanding home.
The client was looking for a landscape designer who could think outside of the box, develop creative solutions to the challenging aspects of the project and patiently help them to realise their ideas.
Our main challenge was to marry a rectilinear language with a curvilinear language. We came up with a grid of 2’ wide meditation pathways intersecting all corners of the property. This grid runs through to the front yard with the stone paths laid flush into the concrete driveway.
We needed to create a centrepiece that reflected the grandness of the home and linked the architecture to the garden. We developed a set of hanging wind chimes to provide a multi-sensory experience.
We created many unique features in this garden such as the pool deck, spa garden, rooftop garden, custom gates, ergonomically correct vegetable gardens, circular fire pits, and a grove of Cherry trees inspired by the Hanami Festival in Japan.
