The client asked us to develop a private, functional garden design. They wanted the backyard to include a space for the kids to play, a deck with a built-in BBQ, and a 6 person seating area. The front yard would be used for entertaining and outdoor dining.
Initially, the City of Vancouver was unhappy with the size of the proposed water feature. This necessitated a redesign. We created a rill, a long thin water feature that turns and has various stages of waterfalls. This design originated over a thousand years ago in Persia as a way to move water through a building, cooling it and bringing in fresh drinking water and water plants.
The finished work has yet to be photographed, but the unique landscape has a 120 linear foot wrap-around water feature, mature plantings and rectilinear fire pit.
